Michel de Belvas Blanc de Blanc
Certified Organic Champagne
The Domaine
Champagne Michel de BELVAS was born to highlight a sector of the Terroir Vertusien. Its name comes from the first name of the winegrower Michel RUTAT associated with the name of the Vertus wine hillside "La côte des Belvas". We have 12 plots distributed in the middle and lower part of the hill. This sector has loamy soils in the lower part and clay-limestone in the middle part. These soils allow our vines to produce balanced grapes which give fine and minerality to our champagnes. In 2016, we decided to convert the entire vineyard to organic viticulture. We will obtain certification at the end of the 2019 harvest, which will be the first to vinify with the Organic Champagne denomination.
